Dr. Rahul Kumar finished his Ph.D. at Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), Japan on nutrients sensing and signaling in E. coli. To pursue his research interest in understanding regulations in yeast, he joined the Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden where he pursued multi-level systems biology approaches to understand the role of evolutionarily conserved proteins in metabolism. To further broaden the scope of his research to mammalian system he joined Karolinska Institute, Sweden and applied synthetic biology tools such as CRISPR-Cas9 for genome editing of mESCs. Currently, he is focused on using synthetic and systems biology tools to probe central carbon metabolism in yeast. More information about his research can be found at the following: https://cellssys.com.
